A Study on the Preparation of extra-light Bismuth Subnitrate

Abstract
|
|
|
Optimum reaction factors for the preparation of extra-light bismuth Subnitrate by the hydrolysis of bismuth nitrate with Sodium hydroxide in the solution of glacial acetic acid were found as follow; Reaction temperature 33˚, Alkali concentration 20%, final pH of hydrolysis 4, pH of the washing water of precipitate 2.5 and drying temperature 65℃.
Bulk density of the final product which was prepared under the conditions was less than 0.309 Particle size distribution, X-Ray diffraction pattern and electon microscopic shape were compared for products under various reaction conditions, and it was found that lighter the power more crystalline and thiner the crystal plate.
